Cambridge University to Tie-up With Indian InstitutionsCambridge University Vice Chancellor, Sir Leszek Borysiewiczh, told reporters in Chandigarh that, the university is not considering establishing its own campus in India, but through several projects build a strong partnership with Indian institutions. He also ruled out the possibility of entering into tie-ups with undergraduate institutions in India.

According to an information 244 students of Indian origin were pursuing higher education at Cambridge University. The University had 270 active projects with Indian institutions and the focus was on agreas of excellence, at present.

Cambridge University, as a part of agreement with Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) signed in 2009, allows 5 Sikh scholars to pursue M Phils and Doctorate at Cambridge every year and share half of the expenses of the total 18 lakhs per student, per year of the amount which includes fees and boarding.
