Change of Elective Subject After Class XI

Can my cousin who is now appearing in class XI exam in a CBSE school now change one of his elective subjects as he is finding it difficult to cope up with it now? School has denied the change. Is there any appellate authority where he may apply?

RE: Change of Elective Subject After Class XI

According to my information, the school is right to deny change of the elective subject after XI. The privilege to change the elective subject is available only until the October when the admission to std. XI was taken i.e. up to half yearly, when schools send the list of students with electives they have opted, to the Board. As per the rule, for you to be eligible to appear for an elective subject exam in class XII, you must have been studying it for two years. For these reasons it may not be possible to change the subject at this stage whey you are appearing for class XI annual exam now.
