Cut off score for JEE top 20 percentile students announcedWith the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declaring Senior Secondary Certificate Exam i.e. Class XII results on Monday as other state eduction boards to also follow it, the CBSE declared its cut off score for JEE top 20 percentile students. The top 150,000 students from JEE Main also in this band of score will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced the second of the two tier entrance exam system proposed for admissions to prestigious IITs.

According to CBSE, the cut off score for the top 20 percentile for the general stream has been put at 391 (78.2%), for OBC stream 389, for SC stream 350 and ST the cut off would be 338.

JEE Advance test will be conducted on coming Sunday, 2nd June. Though the logistics will be provided for the examination will be by CBSE, the exam will be conducted and monitored by IIT Council.

The CBSE officials have advised to the JEE Main students who are in top 150,000 but may not be in the cut off score range of their respective boards, to appear in the JEE Advanced for exposure.

Board results were also important for the students who are seeking admissions to government funded technical institutes like NITs as 40% weightage has to be given to the board score and 60% to the JEE Main.
