MPSC Deferes State Commission, Insurance Officers and Agriculture Officers ExamsThe March 31 virus attack on their servers has left MPSC red faced. After postponement of their flagship preliminary state public service commission exam, which was to be held on April 7, the commission has announced on Tuesday that now they are deferring the April 21 exam for insurance officers and the April 28 test to select officers for the agriculture department.

While about 3.25 lakh candidates were affected by the earlier deferment  of MPSC exam to fill up 265 posts of class 1 and 2 officers, the current decision to put the exams off has affected 6000 candidates awaiting to appear in insurance officers exam and 800 candidates supposed to compete for position of officers in agriculture department.

Actually it has been reported that this is for the second time the exam for insurance officers has been put off, with the previously the same exam was to be conducted on February 24.

The new dates will be announced soon for all the deferred exams including including preliminary state public service commission exam. The candidates have been asked to re-register, but the response has been slower according to an official. Only 2.4 lakh candidates have so far re-registered for preliminary state public service commission exam against 3.5 lakh figure of earlier registrations.

Meanwhile, an officer of MPSC has said that the commission has dumped the firm VastIndia, which was responsible for maintaining the servers of the commission, for their failure to provide the proper technical and logistical support.
