Student Claims Tech Error at CMATWhile it was being presumed that first leg of the 5 day Common Admission Management Test (CMAT), which ended on Monday went off smoothly, a girl student who took the exam from GNVS Institute of Management in Sion-Koliwada claimed that she lost 15 minutes due to a technical error on Sunday, which was not compensated.

The student has complained that she started getting an error message on her computer every time she submitted an answer. The message stated that her answers are not submitted. The supervisor, who was not sure about the error, asked the student to submit those answers on sheet of paper as backup. But the student claims that due to the panic she could not concentrate and the confusion on error cause loss of about 15 minutes, which must have to be compensated in a fair way.

However, the student was confirmed on Monday that her answers were indeed submitted and there war no reason for her to panic. The girl student claimed that two other students were also getting similar messages and were asked to submit a separate sheet with marked answers.

Pravir Arora, executive vice-president of Aptech, technical service provider for AICTE, said, “I have checked her details. All her answers have been submitted and there was no need to worry.” Arora added that no technical glitches were reported across the 67 centres in the country.

AICTE chairman assured any complaints will be sorted out in the review meeting.

32,000 male and 16,000 female candidates appeared for the exam. This year, CMAT will be conducted twice and students have the option of appearing twice and picking the best of the scores for admissions to B-schools in 2013-14.
